Core Beliefs
We believe the scriptures to be the inspired Word of God. Therefore, the Bible is the final authority in matters of faith and practice for the believer in Jesus Christ and for His church.
We believe in Jesus Christ, the only Son of God. He was born of a virgin, lived among men, was crucified for our redemption and raised on the third day for our justification. We believe that He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will know no end.
We believe that the Holy Spirit was sent by God the Father following the ascension of Jesus back to heaven. The Holy Spirit is here to convict men and women’s hearts of sin and to provide guidance, assurance, comfort and wisdom to those who believe. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness and self-control are the outward signs of the presence of the Holy Spirit.
We believe that the church is the body of Christ on earth and consists of all those who have accepted His grace and have been born of water and the spirit. We believe the church is a divine institution to which God has committed the message of reconciliation for all nations.
We believe that we are saved by grace through faith. Salvation is appropriated through faith in Jesus Christ, repentance from sin, and baptism into Christ for the remission of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit.
We believe that anyone wishing to find salvation:
Acknowledge they are a sinner and in need of a Savior (Romans 3:23, Act 2:37-38, Ephesians 2:1-3)
Believe that Jesus Christ is the only way for salvation. (1 Peter 3:18, Colossians 1:19-20, Ephesians 2:4-9)
Confess that Jesus is Lord and that God raised him from the dead. (Matthew 10:32, Romans 10:9-10)
Repent from their sin and embrace God’s way for life. (Luke 3:8, Acts 2:38, 3:19, Romans 6:1-2)
Be Baptized by immersion in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Romans 6:3-10, Acts 2:38)
We believe that all who continue to live by faith under the Lordship of Jesus Christ can be assured of their Salvation and the promise of eternal life with God.
